Zinc helps babies fight serious bacterial infection, study says

From: PhysiciansBriefing.com/HealthDay News (5/31)

Adjunct zinc therapy for babies aged 7 days to 120 days with probable serious bacterial infection yielded better outcomes than standard antibiotic treatment, according to an Indian study published in The Lancet. Researchers reported that 10 babies in the zinc group died compared with 17 in the placebo group.

  1. Naturally, zinc is a primary cause of a better immune system, but only few people knows about that's why it is taken for granted often times. Babies are the most crucial and fragile because their immune system is not that strong yet unlike a fully grown men. According to what I read from this doctors article at zinc deficiency symptoms, most people are not aware about the importance of zinc within their body.
