From Reuters (6/18):
Study links children's obesity to pregnant mom's excess weight, smoking
Children were more likely to be obese until their teen years if their
mother smoked while pregnant or was overweight early in pregnancy,
according to a study in the Journal of
Epidemiology and Community Health. Children who fell into the
early-persistent-obesity trajectory had a double the odds of asthma and
high blood pressure levels than did the normal-weight-trajectory group.
