From MedWire News (U.K.) (10/10):
Prenatal intake of certain fatty acids may reduce wheezing risk in babies
High levels of eicosapentenoic acid and docosahexenoic acid during pregnancy was linked to a reduced likelihood of wheezing in babies between 23 months and 29 months of age, a Japanese study in the Annals of Epidemiology showed. Researchers found no evidence that mothers' cholesterol, intake of other fatty acids, ratio of n-3 to n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid consumption, or meat and fish intake were associated with infant wheezing.

Risk of mood disorder higher in young people with prior head trauma...and treatment with HBOT
From DailyRx.com (10/17):
Risk of mood disorder higher in young people with prior head trauma
Almost 3% of teens and young adults who sustained a traumatic brain injury developed mood disorders during the five years following their injury, compared to 1.52% among those without prior TBI, according to a study in the Journal of Pediatrics. Patients who suffered from head trauma were also more likely to be diagnosed with depression. In addition to other uses, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) has been shown to decrease inflammation due to head trauma and post-concussive injuries. HBOT is the medical use of oxygen at a level higher than atmospheric pressure. It significantly increases the partial pressure of oxygen in the body tissues and promotes increased oxygen transport capacity of the blood. By increasing the amount of oxygen rich blood, HBOT stimulates the body to release substances that promote healing.
We have a hard chamber unit in our CT office and soft chambers available for home rentals. If you are interested in HBOT, please call Dr. O'Hara or Dr. Szakacs at 203-834-2813. For more information and articles on HBOT visit our website at: http://ihealthnow.org/Hbot.html

Eczema severity in children linked to more chronic health problems
From DailyRx.com (6/22):
U.S. researchers looked at more than 90,000 children and teens and found that those with severe eczema were at greater risk for asthma, bleeding gums and toothaches than those without the skin condition. Higher eczema severity was also associated with impaired overall health as well as poor sleep, according to the study published in the journal Pediatric Allergy and Immunology.

The vaccine debate
Why is the debate still raging over whether
vaccines cause autism? One of the main reasons is the complete liability
protection Congress gave vaccine manufacturers and doctors back in 1986
in the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Act.
Our position remains that although vaccines do not cause autism, they often play a role in the "dis-ease" of our children.
Check out this 5 min. video on the subject:

Congress will hold hearings beginning in November on the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.
Please share this with friends, family and your members of Congress.
